I have been involved with the recognition, evaluation, and control of occupational health and safety hazards for my entire 20+ year career. I have been privileged to have worked in a variety of industries including electric utility, petrochemical, and consulting before arriving at UNC Charlotte in the fall of 2011. I have attained certification as a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) and Certified Safety Professional during the course of my career.

In my current role as Research Safety Manager, my responsibilities include: Researching emerging Health and Safety issues that could impact University staff, faculty, and students. Serving on the University’s IACUC, and IBC committees, offering technical review of research protocols. Providing Health and Safety technical review of University Business Partners research/laboratory activities. Provide technical support for Environmental compliance programs including oil spill prevention (SPCC), and refrigerant management. As well as, providing technical support to special projects as needed.

I enjoy the many challenges of identifying and managing hazards associated with University operations and look forward to continue supporting the mission of the University.
